About Us
Where the name comes from
Starlings are small, curious birds that travel far, pick up bits of the world along the way, and bring them home. We liked that. Starling Store started the same way: with a notebook full of things we kept reaching for on the road, at the desk and at the kitchen table, and a short list of the ones that never let us down. Today we offer well-made everyday goods for writing, travel, slow mornings, small gifts and garment care, picked one at a time and priced so that a good thing does not have to wait for a special occasion.
How something earns a place here
We live with an item before we sell it. It goes in a bag on a long trip, sits on a desk through a stack of letters, or joins a few slow Sunday mornings. Then we ask: did we reach for it without thinking? Did it still look and work right at the end? Would we wrap it up for someone we like?
If the answer to any of those is no, it does not make the shelf. So our catalog stays small, and we know every piece in it well.
A few promises, written plainly
- Honest descriptions. We say what each item is made of and what it is good for, and we say so when it is not the right fit.
- Real prices. We never invent a higher price just to cross it out.
- A person on the other end. Every note sent to contact@starling-store.com is read and answered by one of us.
- 30 days to change your mind. If it does not feel right, send it back.
